Invite Anyone is a BuddyPress plugin that adds a widget allowing site members to invite friends to join the site via email. It also changes the behaviour of group invitations meaning group members can invite non-friends to join the group.
BuddyPress Members Only is a BuddyPress plugin that will redirect any attempt to access your sites pages from none logged in users to the register page thus enforcing a completely private network.
Match Me for BuddyPress allows site Admin to set up specific profile fields to be compared between site members, the plugin then displays the resulting match percentage in the members profile cover image area.
BuddyPress Featured Members is a plugin that allow site admin to identify site members as featured, these members can then be displayed via a Members page filter, sidebar widget or shortcode.
BP Block Users allows BuddyPress site admin to block users from accessing the site, either temporarily or permanently.
BuddyPress Docs adds collaborative documents to BuddyPress. This means that a person can create a document that can be edited by multiple people.

The combination of WordPress and BuddyPress is a powerful and complex mix, it will take you some time playing with all of the features in order for you to come up with your ideal site. Wise chat is a simple chat plugin that installs a chat page on your WordPress site allowing site users both registered and non-registered to interact together via a basic chat application.
BuddyPress First Letter Avatar is a simple plugin that gives a colour coded avatar based on a letter from the username of the user, for users that have not set an avatar image. It’s an alternative to assigning a Gravatar or similar. It also performs the same task for Groups.
