BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Fields Type is a BuddyPress plugin that adds a variety of field types to the BuddyPress Extended Profile.
BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Image Field is a plugin that adds an image selector to the range of profile fields available to BuddyPress. When installed, it allows for users to add images to their BuddyPress Extended Profile.
BuddyDev have introduced two plugins that could have significant impact on the shape of how we use BuddyPress site memberships and profile information. With the introduction of the BuddyPress Xprofile member type, BuddyDev have created what could be the beginning of a series of plugins to exploit the ability to assign site members their member type.
For this plugin review I’m going to review two plugins that work hand in hand to deliver one thing – user selectable members type at registration, with the ability to display a directory listing of the members of each type.

The combination of WordPress and BuddyPress is a powerful and complex mix, it will take you some time playing with all of the features in order for you to come up with your ideal site. In this article I would like to take you through the basics of getting to know your site and customising it for your purposes, in future articles I will cover adding additional features to your site in order to further customise your installation.
BuddyPress Xprofile Rich Text field adds a rich text field option to the range of field types that can be selected for the user Extended Profile in BuddyPress.
Advanced Xprofile Fields for BuddyPress is a plugin that extends the features of the existing Xprofile fields by adding different field labels for different views, data validation and other advanced features such as the ability to hide a field on the registration form.
Within BuddyPress, the Xprofile is the Extended Profile, information from which is what you can see when you view the Members>>Username>>Profile page. It is Xprofile fields that are completed when a member signs up for example. The registration page gathers data for the Xprofile “Base” Field Group. Other Field Groups can be added by Admin which are not set up on registration but will also be displayed on the members profile.
